Anna Foster
found her nitch in the nonprofit sect while working full time in
1976 for United Cerebral Palsy. Ms. Foster modulated her career
from the front lines of nonprofit organizations (such as Job Corps
and Covenant House) providing hands-on service, to the development
offices of other nonprofit organizations implementing direct marketing
strategies. In addition, Ms. Foster excelled in her direct marketing
career at a major publishing house in New York City. In 1996 Ms.
Foster moved from her hometown of New York City to Denver Colorado
to exchange Broadway for the Rocky Mountains and started Fostering
Strategies, a direct marketing management business. In 1998 she
returned to New York to benefit from opportunities for business
and career growth.
Ms. Foster is
an active member of the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association,
the American Marketing Association, the Association of Fundraising
Professionals, the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DC)
and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Since 2000,
Ms. Foster has chaired the publications committee for the Association
of Fundraising Professional's Fund Raising Day in New York conference
(the largest one-day conference on philanthropy) and continually
looks forward to giving back some of what she has learned throughout
her career to the direct marketing industry.
